md-clear not fired

Steps to reproduce

1. Insert a md-datepicker
2. Click the md-clear component button
3. Observe value is not cleared

Which browser?

Chrome (doesn't seem to be a browser-related issue)

What is expected?

Clicking the clear button the value should be cleared

1. v-model value should be cleared
2. @md-clear event should be fired (?)

What is actually happening?

Nothing
