Looks pretty equal to me - and thus, it should be detected as rename, not as deleted and re-created:

Java says that the contents of the files are not equal !!
From what I see the entire file (except for the package declaration) is commented out.
Our tool finds nothing to match within the two classes.

Did the file change encoding after so many years?

Our tool cannot generate a diff for this file, because the entire contents are commented out (i.e., there is no code to be matched).

But you can diff this now using the new user-select-file feature.
