surveyapps.io deployment

Hi there, I've recently discovered your super useful package and I'm strongly considering to use it for a DCE in the framework of a large public opinion survey. In particular, I'd like to make use of the possibility to conduct an online pre-study using your SurveyApp function. However, while locally its execution (as described in the section 5.1 of the corresponding JSS paper) works flawlessly, online deployment following your instructions in section 5.3 on shinyapps.io fails. Specifically, while the use of the code behind "ui <-" and "server <-" is clear, it remains unclear how/where to define objects and specifications which are, when run locally, either defined within the SurveyApp function itself (but outside the "ui <-"/"server <-" parts) or when calling it. Am I overseeing something or could you provide those required instructions?
