EDIT: semantic-release-friendly commits can be made by using npm run commit now. Using this as a commit convention ensures that semantic-release will be able to determine whether a version bump should be patch, minor, or major without anyone having to remember what type of bump is required (as long as the prompts for the type of commit are adhered to correctly)
