Issue Description:
Once #2912 is merged, we will be able to specify the linker we want to use when running Android tests. This will obviate the following instructions in docs/Android.md: "To compile it, we need to make sure the correct linker is used. Symlink the gold linker in the Android NDK into your PATH".
This is exciting because it will make the tests easier to run – we may even be able to run it on a CI server.
