This isn't everything I had in mind for #100, but I was tired of looking at the current page so figured I'd just tweak it a little bit.

  • gets rid of the wordmark. we don't need it three times (in the home link, the hero image and the hero text)
  • replaces the CTA buttons with a single link — it's weird that these are styled like buttons, and given that we now have the Svelte and Kit docs on one site I think it's better to have a single CTA. The docs page can guide people towards the right starting point (TODO)
  • changes the tagline to 'web development for the rest of us'. obviously we can iterate on this but I think it encapsulates something important about our philosophy, in that we're catering to the very large audience of people who have been left behind by a lot of the complexity of modern tooling. Everyone else has a tagline that says something about the tool itself — usually in needlessly dull language — and I think there's something quite novel and interesting about making the tagline say something about our users instead. It also balances nicely
  • replaces the sharp gradient cutoff with a smooth fade, in keeping with the campaign against the five Bs (borders, boxes, backgrounds, box-shadows and bullshit)
