Description

After realizing that I was using 2.33, and not the 2.34 version I freshly downloaded, I launched 2.34 and now the keycard reader that was just working with 2.33 is not recognized.

the error is pretty obvious actually, see logs (was just a bit dark in my terminal)

Possibly, this was not the case on Ubuntu, But let me take a look.
@fryorcraken : can you help me understand this issue happens for you on which version of Fedora?
I can try to make a PR build for you to test.

Just to confirm, it works fine when I compile 2.34.0 locally, so indeed it seems to be purely related to bundling.

@fryorcraken : could you please test the linux build from this PR : #18196
I've bundled usb drivers into the App Image and if this does not work I've added some debugging information which can help us further diagnose this issue.

Yeah the same... using Fedora 42 locally and it works fine; must be a packaging issue. Sadly we use the old AppImage format creation of which only works under Ubuntu :(

@caybro : does https://status-im-desktop-prs.ams3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/StatusIm-Desktop-250620-054242-f5d562-pr18196-x86_64.tar.gz fail for you too?
Would be good to verify if these changes help or not.
