The development of Rapla started as a practical course at the department of computer science of the University of Bonn, Germany. The project was intended to be an exercise to learn software engineering principles and techniques like UML, design patterns, refactoring.

The course is over but we still keep on working to make Rapla a real opensource-project.

We've invested a lot of time to port it to different platforms and to create an english version. There were also various efforts of refactoring to reduce the difficulty for other people to understand our code. So the missing part for a real opensource-project is YOU.
