What part(s) of the article would you like to see updated?

It would be nice to include what types are supported. It seems like only JSON, but explicitly listing that out, and maybe linking a ticket/feature request to supporting protobuf would be great.

Don't want to get too confused on terminology, but I mean the data type/format that is used to send/transmit data. E.g. do I expect the consumers of my kinesis stream to parse JSON? Protobuf? etc.

Segment --> ~ type ~ --> kinesis --> ~ type ~ <-- my lambda (what format do I serialize/expect?)

Hi again @qvissakdw! I confirmed with Segment engineering that only JSON format is supported right now, but I did let them know there was interest in eventual support for protobuf. I'll update the docs to mention the format restriction. Thanks!
