What article on segment.com/docs is affected?

https://segment.com/docs/personas/audiences/

What part(s) of the article would you like to see updated?

Quite a few customers have written in and been confused about the Personas pipeline, unaware that their source's events weren't sent through Personas and on to those destinations. It'd be beneficial to explicitly state that Personas only generates computed trait events and audience events and doesn't forward the events from the source. It might also be useful to specify the difference between the two pipelines so that customers understand that Personas is built on top of Segment and not an alternative pipeline for events.

The Connections pipeline collects and sends the events from your source to your destination.
The Personas pipeline receives the events from the sources, consolidates the data into user profiles where audiences and computed traits can be built out to enhance the profiles, and only the audience and computed traits events ever get sent from Personas to the connected destinations.
These events would contain the identifiers on the profile, such as userId, anonymousId, other external_ids (like email), and the trait/audience information. (Provide example of personas generated event found in a personas debugger).
