for affix, it was created only to resolve the camel/pascal confusion in paste. so i do "maintain" it in the sense that it works great for its original purpose and nobody has really asked me to do anything else :)

I think pastey forked a few days ago as well, btw. that might be more maintained

FWIW, there is technically also ::with-builtin-macros (of mine), which offers identifier concatenation functionality, and which is maintained.

There, is, however, no easy/simple migration path from paste. I was considering doing what pastey has done, but since it's already there, there does not seem to be any reason to.

With that being said, I do wonder about the benefit from going to an unmaintained, but needing-no-maintenance crate (at this point) such as paste, to a fork thereof which now will involve some lesser known author (no offence to the concrete author in this instance, the "lesser known author" could very well have been me in another scenario).

If all this is for very-low / bare-minimum maintenance of a crate, what would/could be the options to come up with a more trustworthy entity that would do the maintenance? Something along the lines of the now defunct Rust Bus initiative?

I am saying this because paste is incredibly pervasive and essential to a bunch of macro_rules! macros, so there is a gaping hole for someone to start laying down the foundations of a supply chain attack later on.
