crossbeam_epoch::pin perf regression

According to the work done on lolbench there was a perf regression on
crossbeam_epoch_0_4_0::pin::single_pin and crossbeam_epoch_0_4_0::pin::multi_pin between nightly 10-11 and 10-12

Not seeing anything obvious in there. #54592 looks the most relevant, but I don't really see how that one would hurt performance.
