These should display consistently with thick borders on all platforms (and subjectively, I think they look a lot nicer than the stock emojis on my machine)!
This adds a few extra kilobytes to the homepage (but none of the other pages), but should still be miles smaller than dragging in an entire font.
I think the license should be fine, as the share-alike clause only applies if you 'remix, transform, or build upon the material', and we're just displaying them unaltered.
