Select from list does not cause elements that rely on that list to be enabled or disabled on IE9

This is an IE9 only issue, works fine in IE7, IE8, 8 versions of firefox and chrome. I have an element that should be disabled once a certain option is selected. This does not occur in any manual tests. Have Integrated robot framework's autoIt library to select the items to resolve this issue. I looked further into the issue and cannot replicate the error behavior with anything other than the 'select from list' method.
