Just to clarify this for other folks: Quarto runs deno with enough permissions. I believe what happens here is you've told macOS to give the R executable sufficient permissions, and that hasn't happened for Quarto's binaries (or there are other permissions issues).

With that said, @mcanouil's suggestion is the recommended way to solve this general class of problems.

This only happens with Quarto. The same setup works perfectly with rmarkdown::render() in R — suggesting that the issue lies with Quarto’s internal Deno-based file copying and its interaction with macOS SIP or sandboxing.

I don't know where you got this from, but in case you got it from an LLM: please don't post these claims without verifying their veracity.

Hello, Thank you very much for your quick response. Rendering locally and copying manually works. However, I am required to perform my analyses on the drive so my colleagues can view them. Rendering locally and copying manually becomes too tedious. So I am using rmd for now. I would love to switch to quarto for its publishing features. Do you think this bug is fixable any time soon?
