How to show sub headers on the left sidebar

I am trying to show sub headers in a page on the left sidebar. I can't find any option for that.

do you mean a subheader like the level 2 header from the pages?
If that's the case is it answering your problem?

I am trying to show the items here on the left sidebar, basically as collapsed items under the topic. Just the way you can show subpages on the left sidebar.

I tried that before, it didn't work. The left sidebar items were still the same.

just to make sure you are talking about the right sidebar ? (because your screenshot is showing the page TOC which is on the right side of the screen)

I tested the configuration in my test documentation and it worked as expected:

I was using it as an example of what I want. I want the collapsible items to be on the left sidebar instead of the right. The way you have collapsible items for subpages.

you can't this theme only displays pages and subpages in the left sidebar and use the right sidebar to display in-page TOC

This theme is designed for heavy API that requires the header navbar to navigate their content. If you can afford to let the content of your pages in the left sidebar I assume it's way lighter, did you consider the other themes suggested in the documentation?

If you are looking for a Sphinx theme that puts all of its sub-pages in the sidebar, the Sphinx Book Theme has a similar look and feel, and Furo is another excellent choice. You can also see the Sphinx Themes Gallery for more ideas.
