Possible to use client certificate authentication?

We have a Jira deployment that uses client certificate authentication (so client cert and key are needed). But I don't think I see an obvious way to leverage that? I thought it was with the client_cert option, but I am not getting it to work for me (auth error).

Here's what I am trying:

with open('config.yaml') as f:
  cfg = yaml.load(f, Loader=yaml.FullLoader)
  cert = (cfg["certificate"]["cert"], cfg["certificate"]["key"])
  jira = JIRA(url, {'client_cert': cert, 'verify':False})

Here is the moral equivalent just using regular request:

with open('config.yaml') as f:
  cfg = yaml.load(f, Loader=yaml.FullLoader)
  payload = {}
  cert = (cfg["certificate"]["cert"], cfg["certificate"]["key"])
  response = requests.request("GET", url, cert=cert, data=payload, verify=False)

Any idea what I am doing wrong here??

OK, figured it out, my base URL was missing an element.
