This PR makes some improvements in:

CI/CD updating the actions used and removing the warnigs
CI/CD adding specific workflow for windows mysys2
Makefile using OS for checking if windows
Simplify logic for sleep and pause
Remove threads when exiting the program
Other minor cleanups
