google-vr dependencies are no longer resolved when building the sketch in the PDE

The google-vr dependencies cannot be resolved using the current repos listed the top gradle build file. Up to 1.180 can be retrieved from https://repo.gradle.org/gradle/libs-releases, but it's worth noting that the Google VR SDK for Android is no longer supported by Google, the repo is archived:

https://github.com/googlevr/gvr-android-sdk

and the last two releases (1.190 and 1.200) were not released as artifacts.
