Problem with dark theme during execution of wireshark

(1) Issue/Bug Description:
Problem with dark theme during execution of wireshark. Looks like there is problem with QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE

(2) Steps to reproduce (if you know):

Hi, I wanna share my setup :)

• Install the dark theme for QT:

sudo apt install adwaita-qt

• Test with override environment veriable:

QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=Adwaita-Dark wireshark

If WireShark goes well with dark mode, then we just need to add QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=Adwaita-Dark to our user environment:

export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=Adwaita-Dark

Just apend the above to the ~/profile and restart :)

To build off @fernvenue's excellent comment, I had to install the QT 6 version of the theme:

sudo apt install adwaita-qt6

I then updated the .desktop file for Wireshark, at /usr/share/applications/org.wireshark.Wireshark.desktop, telling it to choose the Adwaita Dark theme:

Exec=/usr/share/kali-menu/helper-scripts/wireshark.sh -style Adwaita-Dark %f
StartupNotify=false

(YMMV for above step, I think the desktop file contents depends on which distro/package you have -- this is what it looks like on Kali. Crucial step is adding the -style Adwaita-Dark argument)

Lastly, apply the change:

sudo update-desktop-database

Now, whenever I launch Wireshark via GNOME, I get the jet black goodness :)

Hi @an0ndev, great additional explanation, I just upgraded my Debian from Bookworm to Testing, and I just found out that I also need to install adwaita-qt6 package :)
