Currently, the mesh filter in the random ray solver has two basic restrictions:
- Tally mesh boundaries must conform with physical (or lattice) boundaries in the problem geometry
- A single physical cell is not permitted to be split across multiple mesh bins (although it is ok if multiple cells score to the same mesh bin).
To make tallying more flexible for the user, we need to remove these two restrictions. It's possible we may want to retain the current treatment as an option that can be specified to improve performance when the conditions are met (e.g., pincell scale tallies within an assembly), but the default should be more flexible.
