I assume by "latest version", you mean the current Node.js 25.2.1 from https://nodejs.org/dist/v25.2.1/node-v25.2.1-x64.msi.

Note that this installation dialog also gives the advice:

Alternatively, follow the instructions at https://github.com/nodejs/node-gyp#on-windows to install the dependencies yourself.

This may be a more reliable method for you to use, if the chocolatey installation method is not working well due to network restrictions in your location. The two steps involved would be:

• Follow the instructions in Using Python on Windows to install the current version of Python (3.14).

• Install Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools, selecting the Desktop development with C++ workload.

You can check that https://nodejs.org/dist/v24.12.0/node-v24.12.0-x64.msi is already served from Cloudflare.

The additional components, that you are having problems downloading, are not supplied by Node.js. The download script is getting them from https://community.chocolatey.org/ . You might be able to find out from chocolatey if they have any alternate mirrors for China.

Otherwise you can try the alternate way of getting Python and Visual Studio that I already described.

Visual Studio is distributed by https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/

both are also re-packaged by https://community.chocolatey.org/

These are all separate organizations, so apart from the previous advice, I don't know how Node.js could help you further.

You can install Python and Visual Studio separately. The Node.js dialog advises this:
