Agent persistently fails to connect to MCP server, looks for incorrect server name 'VSCode Tools' #644
Description
My agent fails to connect to the vscode-mcp-server tool. It always produces the error: Server not found: 'VSCode Tools'.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
- Manually editing the agent's JSON configuration to specify the correct server name (
vscode-mcp-server). - Deleting the agent and creating a new one from scratch.
- Completely uninstalling the AI Toolkit extension, clearing caches, and reinstalling it.
The extension seems to have a hardcoded or incorrectly cached reference to 'VSCode Tools' that cannot be cleared.
