Modern language changes

Start of the api changes to use more modern practices, such as throwing exceptions instead of false, returning data instead of echoing, adding strict typing.

Once the api gets fully nailed down, we'll update the readme with some more examples including the lesser known php echo tags. <?= $icons->get(...) ?>
