Failure to Render formulas in MediaWiki 1.18.1

After I installed MathJax to display formulas, they are rendered only at the first time of opening the page in the browser. But when I refresh the page later, all formulas remain LaTex code and cannot be rendered. They only display correctly in preview mode. I searched the Internet and found others also ran into the same problem (link is as below):

What browser and OS are you using? Is this on a static page, or is the page constructed dynamically? Does it use ajax to obtain any parts of the page? Without more details about how your page works, it is hard to give you any advice.

Would you be willing to give us a URL so that I can check it out and see what is happening?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. Here is the link to the page where MathJax has been installed. My platform is Mac 10.7.2 and I use Safari 5.1.1, Chrome 18.0.1025.165 and Firefox 11.0 to open the page. The MediaWiki is 1.18.2 version. Usually the first time to open the formula page may be correct. But later access to the page will only get original code rather than rendered formula. I wrote the static page and set up the MathJax based on instruction from http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MathJax.

The page you link to doesn't seem to load MathJax at all. There is no reference to it in the HTML, nor in the scripts that the page loads, at least that I could see. Can you check that this page is properly set up?

I installed the MathJax extension based on MediaWiki doc: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MathJax

I am not sure if MathJax is loaded in Read mode. But in Edit mode, when I click show preview, the formula can be rendered correctly. However, they still cannot generate formula in Read mode. Hope for your suggestions on this problem. Thank you.

Well, I can tell you that they are not rendering in Read mode because the page does not load MathJax. I'm afraid that is an issue you will have to take up with the author of the MediaWiki extension. The Extension_Talk:MathJax page might be a good place. It looks like the last entry on that page might be your issue. They suggest setting $wgParserCacheType = CACHE_NONE; in your localSettings.php file might help.
