Fuzzy: Set layouts='' by default

Proposal:

Due to multiple reported issues, it seems like our default layouts enabled create more mess than profit.

As discussed before, we decided to disable layouts by default.

We should follow up on documentation and update the information there, and probably, after the change, also fix tests due to the default behavior change.

Done, but Unit tests are failing. This failure is related to the backup script.

For me, it's not clear why we are checking the version this way:

    }
