`Source Control Repositories` icons missing in VSCode 1.97.1 and onwards

Description

The GitLens icon in the red box has mysteriously disappeared, this is reproducible by instaling GitLens on https://vscode.dev and loading a repository.

Also reported here microsoft/vscode#240944, but dismissed as this extension's problem

This appears to be fixed on the Insiders Edition of VS Code on the desktop, but there still appears to be an issue on https://insiders.vscode.dev/

Yea, I'm on that issue, but microsoft is just not getting it. Can help convince them? Thanks.
