rStructuredText - embedded aliases in hyperlinks not rendered correctly

In reStructuredText, embedded aliases in hyperlinks do not seem to be rendered correctly.

E.g, in

`This <that_>`_ should link to the same place as that_.

.. _that: https://github.com/

This and that should both link to https://github.com/, however that seems not to be happening.

See the README.rst in dairiki/rst-embedded-link-aliases for a demonstration of the problem.

FWIW, Rst2html.py from Docutils==0.12 does render the above snippet correctly.

Thanks for reporting the issue. We use this rest2html script to render the document. We'd love help diagnosing and fixing the issue.

I've just played with the rest2html script a bit. It appears to work fine (on the This <that_>_ example) if run using docutils >= 0.11. With docutils 0.10, it does not work.

(I think the feature in question is the “Support embedded aliases within hyperlink references” mentioned for release 0.11 in the docutils release notes.)

Are you running with docutils 0.10 or older? If so, are you able to update to a more recent version?

We're now running docutils 0.13.1, and the linked examples are working correctly!
