PR icon disappeared on the status bar

What happened
Connect to a repo and notice that the PR icon or PR number doesn't show up in the status bar any longer. This seems to have disappeared in the past week.

Expected to see this:

See no PR icon instead:

It looks like this PR: #1714 caused the change.

Also, the GitHub icon on the start page disappeared again: #1310.

This might also be related to the changes introduced in #1714.
