Is there any interest in supporting Open Telemetry?

As far as I can tell Sentry does not support Open Telemetry.

Solution Brainstorm

Open Telemetry seems like a pretty good solution to the problem of generalizing data ingestion with open source tools. It would also offload the construction and maintenance of data ingest frameworks. But then again, maybe OT is just not mature enough to integrate. :shru

@rnhurt, we're slowly working our way to get otel support across Sentry SDKs and the Sentry platform itself. If you want to keep an eye on our progress, our project board is completely open. Our WIP internal dev docs are also live.

@rnhurt do you have certain platforms/SDKs you would like to see have otel support in particular. The way we are going to make this work is that you need to run a Sentry SDK and an OpenTelemetry SDK at the same time to make this work.
