Ubuntu setup broken

On a newly setup ubuntu 24.10 box, the setup as outlined doesn't work

It looks like something is probably broken on your end:

But it wouldn't surprise me if it actually was broken in Ubuntu, since the whole Flatpak support in Ubuntu has been a broken mess since 18.04 or so.

The universe repo doesn't get installed by default (might be an option in the installer I didn't pick)

So you don't want to mention that in the setup page?

Because the universe repository is enabled on default Ubuntu installations. If it was not enabled on yours, it is a problem with your system configuration or a bug.

My impression was, that the new installer has an option, where it doesn't install universe. So that's why I could reproduce that users error in my vm.

Do you have any details about that? It does not make much sense to me for Ubuntu to not have universe enabled.

But if that actually is the case, we can always add something like "Make sure you have the universe repository enabled" to the setup instructions.

Okay, I checked every constellation.

The universe repo only get's installed on the lower option Extended section otherwise it's not there.

That is most likely a bug.

Still, they probably won't replace the iso with a fixed one? Do you have the means to reach out?
