Description

When you set a room to invite-only, the browseable checkbox should be greyed out! Right now you can set a room to invite only and have the browsable checkbox checked. This gives the impression that the room is still browsable but in fact its not.

Are you talking about the unclear interplay between the two room settings:

• WHO CAN ACCESS THIS ROOM? -> Only people who have been invited
• WHO CAN READ HISTORY? -> Anyone

If so, and if you're suggesting the 'Anyone' option should not be permitted to be checked at the same time as 'Only people who have been invited', then you're probably right 😀

Specifically the issue is with the combination of the setting "Who can access this room?" being set to "Only people who have been invited" AND the "Publish this room to the public in ____ room directory?" checkbox being checked. When a room is set to invite-only, this checkbox no longer takes effect but we want the ability for rooms to show up in the directory IF that box is checked, even if they are invite-only.

@kylerankin why would you want rooms to show up in the directory if they are invite only? That would be a pretty bad experience for users trying to join rooms.

I think the better solution is just to disable the "Publish this room to the public in ____ room directory?" checkbox when a room isn't publicly joinable.
