Steps to reproduce

1. Enable the rich text editor in Labs
2. Type a message into the rich text editor
3. Press enter multiple times in quick succession

Outcome

What did you expect?

• A single message is sent to the room
• The content of the editor is cleared immediately

What happened instead?

• Multiple messages are sent to the room
• The content of the editor is cleared after a small delay
