Document and warn that invoking `/remove` to self actually parts you from the room

Your use case

Per Matrix spec, kicking is just a forced leave issued to another user by a user with a sufficient power level. People without kicking powers can still use /remove against themselves, as this case is unchecked in the client side (this is totally OK server-side, as explained in the first sentence)

Have you considered any alternatives?

Simply not send the leave event when the operand of the slash command /remove is yourself.

This is similar as /part; every user can leave on their own time from a room.

I think this can be closed, unless there is merit to have an additional confirmation dialog for a typed command.

In case of /part, there is no confusion possible, as you can only issue that command to yourself, not to another user.

I'm confused why this is an issue. Why would you expect /remove @self:example.org to do anything other than remove yourself?

Because many other chat software actually have separate event types for parting (self-leave) and kicking (forced leave), and inexperienced users from those might not realise Matrix uses the same event type for both actions.
