Prepare for release of Paris #253
Conversation
I'd like to bring this to Eiffel (Bootstrap) Technical Committee before releasing. Our next meeting is next week (w4). Hope that is ok. |
A week's delay probably won't cause a problem, but I hope the subsequent REMReM adoption won't slip too much after that. I'll prepare a PR during the week. Do you need any input from me at the TC meeting? |
Why did you close this? Awaiting more additions to the release? |
Sigh, my bad. For some reason I thought this PR had been merged so I did some branch house cleaning of my fork. Restored now, thanks for noticing. |
The edition-paris release (aka tag) needs to be created before (or simultaneously with) merging this. As long as that is done, I'm happy to approve. |
Applicable Issues
Fixes #252
Description of the Change
This makes the protocol changes made in the past ~8 months available in a new Eiffel edition, Paris.
Alternate Designs
These changes could've been released in a maintenance edition (Agen-2, according to versioning.md), but a discussion at the 2021-01-28 technical committee meeting resulted in a decision to go with a new named edition and Paris was next in line.
Benefits
Increased availability of long-accepted protocol updates.
Possible Drawbacks
None.
