Prepare package for v1 + Svelte 5 readiness

Before publishing v1 package:

• Set svelte version in package.json peerDependencies to ^3.55.1 || ^4.0.0 || ^5.0.0
• Ensure 'getting started' documentation is up-to-date
• Documentation related to styling is up-to-date

I tried installing and testing svelte@5.0.0-next.115.

Changes made: bd3ea6d

• Switched fully to ESM
• Removed format compiler option

I ran the docs: cd docs && yarn dev, but then ran into this runtime error:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'call')

Which points to this presumably svelte-generated code:

  return (
    /** @type {N} */
    clone_node_method.call(node, deep)

  );
}

Going to try coming back to this later and find out why this happens.

Hi there. What is the state of this package on svelte 5? Is it usuable (even though it is not stablized) for svelte 5?

I am using it with Svelte 5 and have not noticed problems. You could check the recent issues; there might be some edge cases I have yet to run into.

That's right – this package should work with Svelte 3.55+, Svelte 4, and Svelte 5 (non-Runes mode).

#2012 tracks any Svelte 5 compatibility issues.
