Elite-Pi instead of Elite-C wiring

It looks like Elite-C is being replaced with Elite-Pi which seems to be similar, but for example it's using a different controller (this should be handled by qmk convert flag), but I'm wondering if in that case the wiring for Elite-C will still work for the Pi version?
