Expected behaviour

Q Autocomplete to showing up

Actual behaviour

Q Autocomplete not working, most probably b/c I have a VPN setup and I need to set the VPN cert to Q

You can set the env var of Q_CUSTOM_CERT to the path to your cert for the app and it should work.

Thanks, yes it did work but only after restarting macOS
