Implement the Spline object

We are definitely not going to implement the Spline logic on our own. We should look into other libraries to see who has it implemented and wrap around it.

Some projects for the usage of splines:

Scipy also has its own B-Spline implementation though it is more intended for data analysis purposes. The problem with the previous two Python packages is that they seem not to be maintained...

After #1675 we can probably consider this closed. Funcitonality is on the client now. We need to map things down to the server now... but we are getting there.
