Not sure about the details but Angular itself has a closed (and tagged as blocked) PR involving 2.0.3. (angular/angular#11843)

@clydin that's a very relevant note. I looked into it and think it's mostly on a A2 build level that there was a problem, on the docs we've been using 2.0.3 for some 20 days and all is fine on userland, I think it's safe.
