Identity WG Use Cases Inventory

The following use cases are expected to be relevant to identity management for Hyperledger. This current list is:

  • DRAFT and in no way final, complete nor sufficient
  • Not-yet-reconciled with the use case pages within this wiki
  • Not-yet-rationalized down to core use cases
  • Not-yet-peer-reviewed

This set of use cases are based upon notes from the Identity WG meeting held at the DTCC in the NYC area on May 5th, 2016:

  • Cross border data transfer
  • Identity theft
  • Panama papers
  • Secure hardware
  • Commonwealth countries - shared ID system
  • Fair trade / fair labor supply chain
  • Client onboarding of institutional customers into investment banks
  • Trade matching / smart contracts
  • SWIFT Ukraine
  • SWIFT Bangladesh wi-fi

  • Capital controls - enforce / avoid
  • RSA the firm itself getting hacked

  • Cross-Border Remittances
  • Diamonds - physical identity and title
  • Property Titles / Land Records
  • Interbank Payments
  • Airline Miles
  • US Treasury Repos - sovereign bond repurchase agreements
  • Private Shares - e.g., US 144a related tradable shares; i.e., not SEA 1934 nor RIA under IAA 1940
  • Syndicated Loans
