Hey guys. Awesome job with Alpha 2 👍

GOG is quite moody and needs a weird symlink in the wine prefix.
But with that, everything seems to work fine.
(Except for errors after a game-installation finishes - which can be
ignored)

Works without explicitly stating a windowsVersion, so I removed it.

@seijikun do you think it would make sense to install GOG Galaxy in the GOG QuickScript?

Why not after all, we are supporting Steam, UPlay, and others

Could there be any reason not to have it? I mean it's optional so maybe there are people who do not want it?

I think this script does not force you to have it, does it?

No but if we add it to the GOG QuickScript it will be installed for all GOG games.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you said. If we add it to GoGScript, we should let the choice to the user

So a choice in the wizard "Do you want to install GoG Galaxy?". Should work.

Better, a menu with several install methods (Download directly, Gog Galaxy, Local setup file)

In my opinion, GOG Galaxy is quite misbehaving.

  • Installing a service
  • Spawning 6 background processes
  • It doesn't close when you close its window, it only minimizes.
  • Unable to stop it through the tray-icon, only leaving either the task manager, kill or Phoenicis' stop button

I think you definitely should leave the choice for doing so. Especially because it doesn't bring advantages for all games. (Many games don't support syncing save-games, chat or multiplayer)

These caveats may be worth it, if you install GOG Galaxy in a container and then manage all games from there. (Thus this script)
But I wouldn't want one instance per game.
