Key map to open branches to checkout

I'm finding a solution to create a key map to open the branch list to checkout instead of opening Neogit, pressing b, then b again and picking a branch. I believe there is a function to do it but I haven't found it out.

I believe you're looking for :h neogit.action

I tried :lua require('neogit').action('branch', 'checkout_local_branch') but nothing happended. However, creating mappings using neogit.action worked. Thanks

Yea, require('neogit').action('branch', 'checkout_local_branch') returns a function, which is why it worked as a keymap. If you want to invoke it via :lua you need an extra () at the end.
