Lack of feedback from arrow keys during map navigation

The JAWS screen reader user identified an issue related to the absence of functional feedback when using arrow keys for map navigation. The user pointed out that when pressing the arrow keys to navigate, there is no audio confirmation or indication from the screen reader that verifies the buttons’ functionality.

This absence of feedback restricts users' understanding of whether their navigation attempts via arrow keys are recognized and successful.

We're wondering if JAWS is reading out what NVDA reads out as you shift focus via arrow keys between features: "Banditos button collapsed" etc. What type of feedback would be expected here?
