Note: In pkg/diagnotics, setting the parameter "diagMdsDir" to 'diags' would do exactly that (i.e, create dir "diags" and write into it).

Directory includes code, namelist, input_binaries , and instruction file "setup_run.txt" to show how to compile, link files into run dir, and successfully finish the run to reproduce the run/STDOUT.0000 result.
