Describe the feature you'd like
As we indicated in #1484, we intend to run our block-producer on enterprise grade hardware (riscv64 or s390x) and software, as the next logical step towards this endeavour we see the need to move cardano-node into openSUSE add-on repository OBS devel:languages:haskell:cardano.

We have already started the works, and are moving as we go along, this ticket is meant to be used for tracking and a frame of reference if/when we need to provide a link to justification for proposed bugfixes of feature requests as we move along this path.

Describe alternatives you've considered
There is no alternative to get SUSE / IBM L3 support for cardano-node other than it being part of a mainline release of SUSE Linux.

Status update:

• Cardano Node 1.22.1 successfully builds on x86_64 against devel:languages:haskell:ghc-8.10.x which will be promoted to openSUSE Factory and openSUSE Tumbleweed, meaning all required dependencies from Hackage will be in mainline
• s390x and riscv64 pending promotion of Hackage dependencies to devel:languages:haskell project to evaluate build status

Ad 3) Feature request raised on GitHub openSUSE/open-build-service#12200, we certainly will need verification of commit signatures, and complete trusted build environment. I would love to consult Adrian as to his experience with trusted build environments.
