MatrixTrait add shape function.

It would be great if the matrix trait would require a shape function which returns the shape of a matrix.
This would allow for the Matrix type independent (may it be real or complex) code.
E.g. I would like to manually export a Matrix without needing to care about it's type.

Requiring a shape() function in the MatrixTrait will indeed greatly improve type-independent code and overall ergonomics when working with different matrix types. The use case you mentioned, such as manually exporting a matrix without needing to know its underlying element type, perfectly illustrates the benefits.

We agree this is a valuable addition and plan to look into implementing this soon.
