cc @Yhg1s. This fixes a (somewhat contrived) issue with PEP 695, so it should likely go into the next RC.

Sorry, this one does not fix an issue with PEP 695, that's the other backport I just triggered. This fixes a similar issue with the walrus expression. It's been around for a while, so based on your statement in https://discuss.python.org/t/adding-a-third-3-12-release-candidate/33605 this should probably wait until 3.12.1.
