@mdickinson in #26827 (comment) suggested to use the spelling "floating-point" (with a hyphen) instead of "floating point". Currently there are 118 occurrences of "floating-point" and at least 162 occurrences of "floating point" (in several cases it is split between lines, so it is not easy to get accurate number).
This looks reasonable to me. Wikipedia redirects from "floating point" to "Floating-point arithmetic".
