Filter by todo state in agenda view

Does this feature exist in Emacs orgmode core?

When I was using orgmode in emacs, I was able to filter on tag + todo state. i.e -someday+TODO="NEXT" which would return all the todo items without the tag someday but with the status of NEXT.

In nvim-orgmode, the first part works and I am able to filter based on tag, but filtering based on todo state doesn't seem to. I could not find anything in the documentation related to this either, though I may have missed it.
